The 2017 Chevy Cruze offers an impeccable ride and handsome physical details. The first five-door Cruze hatchback on the US market, its smoothness is a result of the sturdy suspension. A luxurious feel emulates seamlessly throughout the classic Cruze Sedan and new hatchback style.
The Cruze Hatchback displays excellent suspension calibration delivering incredible stability. The new and improved Cruze absorbs bumps like a much larger car. A strong back end and grip are unwavering when making quick lane changes and braking. The light steering is confident staying centered and distinct.

Interior measurements adjusted to fit the 0.7 inch reduction of the 2017 Hatchback’s roof. Rear leg and knee room were not compromised and gained a respective 2.0 and 0.7 inches. The windshield is steep and raked located farther from the driving creating an airier cab. This spacious cabin means more comfortable quarters for up to four of your friends and family.
The cargo room accompanying the Cruze Hatchback is significant to that of the Cruze Sedan. Over 4.0 cubic feet more totalling 18.5 cubic feet is present behind the rear seat. A folding bench opens up to a max cargo volume of 47.2 cubic feet. If more room is what you’re after, the Cruze Hatchback is the variant for you. The more budget friendly Cruze Sedan is ideal if you can go without the extra space.
The 16-inch wheels compliment a precise and effortless ride. The wheelbase offers 0.6 inches more than the previous model. With an added 2.7 inches of overall length, the Cruze hatchback is one of the largest in its category. A premier model with automatic transmission and upgraded 18-inch wheels is available.
The base 1.8-liter and available 1.4-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engines replace the last generation’s system. At 44 pounds lighter than the 1.4T, a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission fitted the test variant. A diesel option will becomes available later this year.
The 153 horsepower offers 177 lb-ft of torque surpassing the old engine by 15 horsepower and 29 lb-ft. Despite the more power in the Cruze Hatchback, less is present. A total of 24 pounds exited the automatic transmission and 53 pounds from the steel unibody. This model offers 30 city and 40 highway mpg.
A sleek look and dynamic accompaniments leave nothing desired on either of the 2017 Cruze options. Offering the same powertrain and platform, two models make either a solid choice. Check out our Cruze inventory at Capital Chevrolet of Wake Forest in Wake Forest, NC.
